Besiktas Group, one of the leading shipping and shipbuilding companies in Turkey built Besiktas Shipyard between the years 2007 and 2009.Besiktas Shipyard, with its state of art facilities, experienced human resources and service oriented company culture, aims to be one of the reliable ship building and ship repair yards in Europe. SHIP BUILDING
Besiktas Group started building ships in good cooperation with the well established Turkish shipyards in 2002. Besiktas Shipbuilding has been concentrated in building high valued and sophisticated ships. In the last 7 years until 2009 we have successfully delivered 21 projects, mainly to North European Ship owners with whom we have been cooperating since the beginning of our activities.
The valuable benefit of the above activity is an important accumulation of experience and human resources. Having this strong support behind, Besiktas group has invested in the construction of Besiktas Shipyard. In the new Besiktas Shipyard, the first steel cutting for four 4100 dwt ships took place in 2008. The capacity of the facility is building 6 ships up to 30.000 dwt per year. The first four 4100 dwt Imo II tankers were delivered in 2009.
Presently the yard has the following 14 newbuilding projects:
• 4 x 3600 cbm semi ref. LPG carriers for Gas&Heat Co. Italy
• 10 x 7100 dwt sea river type tankers for Palmali Shipping Azerbaijan-Turkey
SHIP REPAIRS
Besiktas Shipyard has the 235 m long and 40 m wide post panamax size dry dock dedicated to ship repairs and conversions. Besiktas Shipyard has a strong and experienced ship repair team to provide the highest level of performances. Lay berths, lifting capacities, ship repairs tools and equipments had been purchased and built parallel to the vision of being one of the best ship repair & conversion shipyards of Europe.
Besiktas Shipyard aims to provide competitive service to high profile shipping segments as well such as off-shore ships, oil rigs, Gas carriers.
